Description
5A05 Aluminum Sheet is Al-Mg series rust-proof aluminum alloy. It has higher magnesium content and lower strength. It is like 5a03 alloy. Can not be strengthened by heat treatment. Cold deformation of the alloy can increase the strength. The annealed state has higher plasticity. The alloy has good corrosion resistance. It is suitable for spot welding, atomic hydrogen welding, gas welding, and argon arc welding.

5A05 Aluminum Sheet Characteristics
1. The main features of 5A05 aluminum plate are low density, high tensile strength and high elongation. The weight is lower than other series.
2. High corrosion resistance. Can not be strengthened by heat treatment. Good plasticity when hardened by semi-cold work. Low plasticity when hardened by cold work. Good weldability and can be polished.
3. The machinability of 5A05 aluminum is relatively poor.

Heat treatment of 5A05 aluminum plate
Homogenization annealingHeating 460 ~ 475 °C; Heat Preservation 12 ~ 14h; air cooling.
Rapid annealingHeating 310～350℃; holding time 30 ~ 120 min。 Air cooling or water cooling.
High temperature annealingHeating310～335℃, holding time 30-180min when finished product thickness ≥6mm. When the thickness of the finished product is less than 6mm, the holding time is 30-120min.Air cooling.
Low temperature annealingHeating 250 ~ 300 °C or 150～180℃, holding time 1 ~ 2h or 2～3h.Air cooling.
