From the point of view of composition, 2014 aluminum sheet belongs to duralumin alloy and also belongs to forged aluminum alloy. The copper content of the 2014 aluminum plate is higher than that of the 2A50 aluminum plate. So, the 2014 aluminum plate has higher strength and better thermal strength. But, the plasticity in the hot state is not as good as that of the 2A50 aluminum plate.

2014 aluminum plate heat treatment

Homogenization annealing
Heating 475 ~ 490 °C; Heat Preservation 12 ~ 14h; furnace cooling.

Complete Annealing
Heating 350 ~ 400 °C, holding time 30 ~ 120 min depending on material effective thickness. Cooling to 300 °C with furnace at 30 ~ 50 °C/H, then air cooling.

Rapid annealing
Heating 350 ~ 460 °C; holding time 30 ~ 120 min; air cooling.

Quenching and aging
Quenching temperature 495 ~ 505 °C, water cooling, natural aging room temperature 96h.
